Asthma prevalence data are from the Maine CDC’s Office of Data, Research, and Vital Statistics (ODRVS).

Abstract:

This data set contains information on the percent of adults in Maine with current or lifetime asthma. Data are stratified by geographic location, age, sex, education, and household income. Asthma prevalence data are derived from the Behavior Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS).

Asthma Metadata: Hospitalizations

Origin:

Hospitalization data are from the Maine Health Data Organization (MHDO).  Population data are from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The Maine EPHT program receives inpatient hospitalization data annually, based on discharge date, from MHDO. Asthma hospitalizations (ICD9-CM 493.0 - 493.9; ICD10-CM J45) among Maine residents are analyzed, stratified by admission date, geographic resolution, age-group, and sex.

Air Quality Metadata: Ozone (Daily Historical)

Origin:

Historical air quality data are from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Air Quality.

Abstract:

This dataset contains the highest daily average concentration of ozone measured among monitors across the state of Maine. Ozone concentrations are assessed as a set of rolling 8-hour averages. The dataset also contains the corresponding Air Quality Index (AQI) category based on current AQI definitions.
