Air Quality
Air pollution affects people throughout the state. Poor air quality is associated with health problems that include asthma, exacerbations of breathing and heart problems, and illnesses such as pneumonia and bronchitis. Maine tracks ozone and particulate matter levels through the use of air monitors. By integrating air quality and health data, Maine hopes to get a better understanding of the impacts of air pollution and minimize adverse health effects.
