Why track carbon monoxide poisoning?

By tracking carbon monoxide poisoning data, we can monitor trends over time and identify groups at high-risk for carbon monoxide poisoning. Maine also uses survey data to track the percentage of homes in Maine that have a CO detector. Combined, these measures are used to plan and evaluate prevention efforts and track the impact of public health policy aimed at preventing carbon monoxide poisoning.
